General Internal Medicine - What To Expect
After checking in for your medical consultation at the Outpatient Registration desk (Zone B, Level 3), you will be directed to Waiting Room 5. You will then be called in by a nurse and your vital signs checked. The doctor will see you shortly thereafter. You may be seen by a medical resident prior to your consultation with the specialist.
You can expect to provide a history of your medical issue(s) and to have a physical examination. If you are a new patient, your appointment may take up to an hour, but this will vary depending upon the complexity of your medical issue(s). Follow-up visits are usually much shorter. If you require additional testing or referrals, these will be arranged.
