Eric Wong

Dr. Eric Wong

Dr. Eric Wong is a family physician at St. Joseph’s Family Medical and Dental Centre, and associate professor and Faculty Development Director in the Department of Family Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. His academic expertise is in medical education. He has held educational leadership positions such as Faculty Lead for Assessment in the medical program at Western (2019-2021), Postgraduate Director of Western’s family medicine residency program (2008-2014) and Director, Certification and Examinations at the College of Family Physicians of Canada (2015-2017). He enjoys hiking, photography and spending time with his wife, Joanne, and three children: Nicholas, Benjamin and Jessica. He’s also trying to visit all the National Parks and National Park Reserves in Canada. He’s getting there (27/48)!

 

 

 

 

 


Dr. Laura Lyons

Dr. Laura Lyons
At St Joseph’s Family Medical and Dental Centre, Dr. Laura Lyons is an academic family physician and team lead. She is an associate professor and full- time faculty member at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and provides supervision, teaching and mentoring to medical students and residents.

Dr. Lyons practices cradle to grave medicine, providing intrapartum obstetrics to palliative care - and everything in between. Her roles include Associate Chief of Family Medicine at London Health Sciences Centre, and Director of Family Medicine Obstetrics for the citywide Department of Family Medicine.

In addition, Dr. Lyons is an addiction medicine specialist and a a valued consultant on addiction in pregnancy. She is actively involved in hospital and community programs that support people who use drugs, conducts research, and presents regularly at conferences on pregnancy complicated by psychosocial risks, mental health and addictions.

 

 


Dr. McNair

Dr. Susan McNair
Dr. Susan McNair has been a staff physician at St Joseph’s Family Medical and Dental Centre for many years. She has a full spectrum practice, including the care of patients at two long term care homes.  Through Western University, Dr McNair teaches at the undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate studies levels.

 Dr. McNair  is passionate about the forensic, medical and psychological care of victims of sexual assault/abuse, domestic violence and human trafficking across the age and gender spectrum. In her role as Medical Director of the Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program at St Joseph’s Hospital, and as the Medical Advisor to the Ontario Network of Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Centres, Dr. McNair provides clinical care and leadership in this important area. 

Dr. McNair’s research interests are in this area of sexual assault care and she has provided supervision to residents doing research in this area.

 

 


Dr. Nelson Chan

Dr. Nelson Chan

Dr. Nelson Chan has been a family physician at St. Joseph’s Family Medical and Dental Centre for 12 years. In fact, he trained as a resident on the same team with which he currently practices.

Dr. Chan practices comprehensive family medicine with an interest in hospitalist medicine and skin procedures. His academic interests include medical education, interdisciplinary collaboration and medico-legal issues. Dr. Chan is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Western University.

Outside of work, Dr. Chan enjoys time with his family, including two young children who challenge him to learn new activities, such as skiing and skating.

 


Dr. Jan

Dr. Saadia Hameed Jan
Dr. Saadia Jan is a clinical team leader and Medical Director at St. Joseph’s Family Medical and Dental Centre, and an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Western University.  She completed her postgraduate training in family medicine and a Masters of Clinical Science in family medicine from Western.

Dr. Jan’s practice is broad in scope and includes ambulatory care, long term care, home visits, community and in-hospital palliative care, sexual assault and domestic violence care, women’s health, and dermatological and aesthetics procedures. Dr. Jan has a College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario certificate in dermatology as an additional scope of practice.
 Dr. Jan’s research interests include mental health, primary health care models and policy, practice-based research networks, as well as quality improvement in primacy care. More recently, she has been interested in gender, equity, diversity and inclusion issues in primary care.

Dr. Jan loves to spend time with her family of three children, enjoys hiking with her husband and has a passion for reading.
