NeuroTrauma Rehabilitation (NTR)
Comprehensive rehabilitation
Driven by innovation and research, Neurotrauma Rehabilitation (NTR) commits to making a lasting impact on our community by leading the frontier in rehabilitation for complex injuries in Southwestern Ontario.
NTR aims to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitative care, with an emphasis on returning to meaningful and purposeful activity. NTR clinicians provide care in naturalistic environments including the clinic and community setting to facilitate success within functional activities.
Using a person-centred approach, individuals are engaged as active participants in establishing goals based on their interests, values and priorities, which empowers them to facilitate change and make progress. NTR is committed to engaging individuals, their families, and caregivers as partners to ensure continued confidence throughout the rehabilitation process.
Populations we serve
NTR provides rehabilitative care throughout Southwestern Ontario to individuals over the age of 16. Our experienced team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers and speech-language pathologists focus on:
- Concussion (mild traumatic brain injury)
- Moderate and severe brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Polytrauma (multiple and complex trauma)
- Orthopaedic injury
- Chronic pain
- Mental health conditions
Services are provided to individuals at Parkwood Institute, at home, or within the community, including work, school and volunteer settings. NTR is also enabled to provide secure and private virtual care through Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) and Cisco WebEx.
Innovation and research
With our continued commitment to evidence-based practice, NTR is proud to engage in clinical research activities with our partners at Parkwood Institute Research, a division of Lawson Health Research Institute. NTR clinicians actively participate in continuing education to ensure our practice incorporates the latest evidence-based research and clinical knowledge. This focus enables our clinicians to merge innovative methods and technology into the overall care plan.
