A Message to Our Community

St. Joseph’s joins all South West hospitals in maintaining masking requirements indefinitely.

Hospitals across the south west have updated their ongoing protections against COVID-19 and confirm that current masking requirements for all individuals entering their facilities will continue indefinitely. 

“Throughout the pandemic, we have, as a system of hospitals, continually assessed the protocols and processes necessary to protect our patients, residents, staff, physicians and those visiting our hospital sites,” says Roy Butler, President and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Care London. “The pandemic continues to evolve with high rates of COVID-19 currently sweeping through our community and region. Maintaining the infection control measures we have in place in our hospitals is critical. As always, our top priority is the safety of those we serve.” 

In addition to masking, active screening of all patients and visitors entering hospital facilities is being maintained. Also remaining in place are COVID-19 immunization policies that require all physicians, staff, volunteers and others working within hospitals to be vaccinated. 

With these protocols in place, individuals are reminded that getting vaccinated and boosted remains the best protection against serious illness and hospitalization from COVID-19. In addition, hospitals urge everyone to continue to follow public health recommendations such as masking where physical distancing is not possible, staying home if unwell, and regular hand washing.
