Thank you for Coming Together for Diabetes
When our community comes together, amazing things are possible.
The Coming Together for Diabetes event was an evening to remember. Former Humboldt Broncos hockey player Kaleb Dahlgren spoke candidly about the challenges of managing type 1 diabetes, inspiring us all with his strength, resiliency and message of hope.
It was a fitting way to mark the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin, an idea dreamed up right here in London, Ontario by Dr. Frederick Banting. We are proud to share that almost $200,000 was raised to fuel diabetes research at St. Joseph’s!
Event proceeds will provide research assistant support critical to advancing current diabetes projects and furthering ideas that haven’t yet been discovered. This means that researchers at St. Joseph’s will have the necessary resources to continue to seek new ways to treat diabetes, prevent complications and make life better for patients.
Thanks again to more than 30 corporate sponsors who helped make this event possible. In particular, we would like to acknowledge our presenting sponsor, John Zubick Limited, for their decades-long commitment to St. Joseph’s mission of care. Special thanks to our premier sponsor, Cerner, and to Kathy and Frank Longo for their generous support of this event.
The support of our community today will transform diabetes care in the future. Thank you!
