  1. What is the most rewarding part of your role at St. Joseph’s?

I’m very lucky to be a physician, researcher and leader at St. Joseph’s. The most rewarding part of my job is the ability to create new ways of caring for people with endocrine and bone disease, implement and then study them through research, and then also have the ability to improve patient care and outcomes as a physician.

  1. Why did you choose a career in health care?

I wanted to be a doctor right from childhood. I think when I was younger, my answer to this question would likely have been that I wanted to, “help people.” Over the years I’ve recognized that this career truly allows me to support people to attain their best health while building relationships with patients from every walk of life.

  1. How do you encourage young female physicians to excel in their career path?

I think it’s really important for women to find a supportive mentor. Whether hoping to excel in clinical care, quality improvement, research, or leadership, gaining the wisdom and advice from someone who has been down the same path is invaluable.
