Join the Lawson Association of Fellows and Students (LAFS) for their first semi-formal event of 2025! Leading the Future aims to empower trainees to lead in research and innovation, build confidence in leaders to support trainees, and ultimately foster a collaborative environment to lead the future of the Lawson research community.

This event will feature buffet-style catering, a keynote speaker, and panelists (from trainees to research scientists) highlighting trainee engagement and involvement through personal and professional experiences at Lawson. We invite trainees, staff, and research faculty to join us on the evening of April 10th to build capacity for trainee engagement to Lead the Future of Lawson Research Institute.

• Roy Butler, President and CEO, St. Joseph's Health Care London
• He will share his personal journey within St. Joseph's and discuss St. Joseph's commitment to supporting students' professional and personal development in efforts to build capacity within Lawson’s research ecosystem

Trainee and Research Faculty Panel Discussion 

• A diverse panel of trainees and research faculty will share their experiences, highlight how Lawson fosters leadership and research opportunities for trainees and provide practical strategies for engaging trainees across all research areas
